Data and Report Packs
We have developed the Data and Report Packs to support local public agencies manage and deliver their Local Information Systems more effectively. The Data and Report packs provide:
- Consistent, nationally published sets of themed indicator data compiled at the lowest geography available, including time series to the most recently available data.
- Data can be provided for customer-defined areas with a range of suitable comparators.
- High quality reports (Profiles and Data Views), that can optionally be loaded into customer systems.
- Including detailed, searchable metadata provided by the data suppliers and enhanced by us.
What benefits do the Data and Report Packs offer?
- Understand your key datasets at a local level: The pre-defined reports provide the information and analysis you need to understand local patterns and trends. We review all national indicators and add value at local level by creating suitable rates and ranks, and benchmarking against comparator areas.
- Make more effective use of your limited staff resources: If you manage your local information systems with a small team, Data and Report Packs allow you to focus staff resources on support for local data, analysis, site administration, training and promotion.
- Reduce the time it takes to set-up and refresh your data: It takes time to populate sites with data and create a range of high quality outputs. Data and Report Packs allow you to fast-track this process. The optional refresh service can significantly reduce the time it takes to keep content up-to-date.
- Reduce your risk of over-looking key national datasets: Small teams find pulling together a wide-range of consistent, reliable national indicators from multiple sources is a significant challenge. Data and Report Packs allow you to tap into our extensive data expertise.
- Benefit from economies of scale of a data and reports service: We are able to offer affordable pricing based on streamlining the creation and on-going refresh of Data and Report Packs for a significant number of customers.
What themes do the Data and Report Packs cover?
- Core starter pack: Wide range of core datasets, based around the following themes: Demographics; Deprivation & Low Income; Economy & Employment; Education & Skills; Health & Wellbeing; Housing; Crime; Environment; Access to Services.
- Economic Assessment Duty: Recent legislation sets out the duty of all Local Authorities to carry out detailed economic assessment. The pack provides an essential starting point for the Economic Assessment Duty, bringing together the very wide range of nationally-published data that the core assessment should assess
- Economic Monitor: The Economic Monitor helps local agencies understand local-level economic trends and drivers: monitor key economic indicators for all English local authorities, showing the impact of recent trends; visualise time series data, including change over recent periods; present fully updated datasets, showing the latest available information from a range of government sources.
- Equalities and diversity data: Understanding the outcomes for particular communities is critical in ensuring that local services are really meeting local needs. The pack provides data to benchmark the needs and performance of different equalities groups on a range of key indicators.
- National indicator Plus: Providing LA level data for each of the National Indicator Set indicators that have been released (with trend data where available). In addition, we provide proxy datasets that are available for small areas, and/or for key equalities groups.
- Deprivation Plus: Key deprivation datasets, enabling comparisons between small areas across the country.
