We are on the lookout for a Marketing and Communications intern to join the team at OCSI, as part of Wired Sussex internship placement programme. The placement lasts 6 weeks, however if all works out we would be looking to extend this for a longer placement, and potentially a permanent role.

This is a Living Wage internship, paid at £7.85 per hour. See our blog for more info on OCSI’s living wage internships.

You will help us market our projects and products to new users, through social media, blogs, mail-outs and news items. This will include developing content for our website and other social media platforms. You’ll also be helping maintain our database of contacts, and build and account-manage our community of users.

To a lesser extent you’ll be first line support on our data projects, liaising where needed with technical staff and providing assistance over email and telephone. Plus developing support material for our users, including videos and ‘how-to’ guides.

We’re a small team (10 people), so there will also be lots of opportunities for learning and skills development. As well as a training budget for all team members, we encourage you to get involved in any and all areas of the company that interest you. So alongside your core role you might find yourself working on things like: organising and running workshops and events, creating data visualisations, improving our social media presence, recruitment, running your own small projects, building up your table football skills, and so on.

Does this sound up your street? Take a look at the full job description on the Wired Sussex page.

We look forward to hearing from you!

*** Please note this position has now been filled. Please send any speculative enquiries (CV and covering letter) to kimberley.anscombe@ocsi.co.uk ***
