Needs measurement

Understanding the issues faced by your communities is crucial in targeting programmes, allocating resources, developing funding proposals and delivering on your community & neighbourhood renewal strategies.

In Bedfordshire and Luton, the OCSI Needs Measurement study was central to the county being awarded annual funding of over £5 million under the East of England Development Agency programme, Investing in Communities (IiC). Alongside highlighting the areas and communities for targeted support under the IiC programme, we worked with local stakeholders to identify the key strategic themes and gaps in existing provision.

Together with the Association of London Government (ALG) we are developing a robust evidence-led approach to distributing resources to voluntary groups across the capital. The ALG distributes £28 million annually, and the OCSI study will help ensure that resources are targeted at the right areas and communities to help tackle social exclusion issues in London.
